mission update #3
We had a great day serving on Monday. Some members of our team went and helped clean up a church that was badly damaged by the flooding from Katrina. They spent hours in a hot, stuffy space chipping away at layers of mold and later bleaching & priming the walls. The other part of our team helping lead day camp at Trinity Christian Community. There, they worked with about 30 neighborhood kids in learning about science, gardening, art, cooking and sports. They kids loved having our students around! In the evening, our groups served dinner at the New Orleans Mission and ran a park ministry at a local neighborhood. Over fifty kids came out to play games, make crafts, get their face painted, and be loved like Jesus. It was an awesome day that started at 6am and ended about 9pm.
All of our kids (and adults) worked extremely hard. I know we’ll all sleep well tonight!
We don’t have a lot of video from our day out of respect for some of the arenas we’re working in, but Bill Reilly has captured some great photos that we’ll get uploaded later today.
Enjoy the update from Danny, Justin, Alex and Billy!
